SPIRIT FILLED

John 14:25-27 NKJV

25  “These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. 26  But the  [a] Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.  27  Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

I. WE ARE A CHURCH THAT IS SPIRIT FILLED AND ANCHORED IN HIS WORD.

Acts 1:8 ESV

8  But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Ephesians 5:18 NLT

18  Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit

Galatians 5:22-23 NLT

22  But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23  gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT

16  All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.  17  God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

Psalm 119:105 ESV

105  Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

John 16:13 NIV 13

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

2 Peter 1:21 NIV

21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

John 4:24 NLT

24  For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”

Psalm 119:105 NLV

105  Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Hebrews 4:12 ESV

12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Isaiah 40:8 NIV

"The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever."

II. WE PRAY FOR INSTRUCTION BEFORE WE MOVE IN ANY DIRECTION.

Acts 13:2 ESV

2.  While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

Philippians 4:6-7 ESV

6  do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  7  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

James 5:16 NIV

“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective”

Acts 4:29-31 ESV

29  And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, 30  while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”  31  And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.

III. EVERYTHING WE ARE CALLED TO IS POWERED & SUSTAINED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT!

John 15:5 NIV

5  “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

John 15:7 NIV

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

Jude 17-21 NLT

17  But you, my dear friends, must remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ predicted.  18  They told you that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires. 19  These people are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They follow their natural instincts because they do not have God’s Spirit in them. 20  But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, [a]   21  and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.

James 1:22 NIV

22  Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

Zechariah 4:6 NKJV

“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit says the Lord…”

Galatians 3:1-3 ESV

3 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified.  2  Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith?  3  Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?

John 3:34 NIV

For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.

Galatians 6:8 NIV

Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

Romans 12:1-3 NIV

12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.  2  Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. 3  For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
