A MOTHER'S REFLECTION

Genesis 16:13

She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have

now seen the One who sees me.”

James 1:23-25

Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

I: The Mirror Reveals Truth (Not Perfection)

John 8:31-32

If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will

set you free

II. Reflection Leads to Transformation

2 Corinthians 3:18

“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

Ephesians 5:1-2

“Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with

love, following the example of Christ

Philippians 2:13:

“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him”

III.The Mirror of Identity (Who You Really Are)

Proverbs 31:25-30

“Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness. She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all.’ Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.”

III.What Your Children See Reflected in You

Proverbs 22:6

“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Psalm 139:14

“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.”
